Community involvement is important to us at Bob Parkes Automotive. Being involved with the community is not only beneficial to the business, but also contributes to Townsville being a great place to live.

We support our local community in several different ways:

We’ve been supporting local youth through work experience programs and school-based apprenticeships for more than 20 years. Allowing young people to experience the work environment before leaving school prepares them for the demands of working full-time and paves the way for a more successful transition from school life to work life. We strongly believe in the importance of completing your secondary education and have encouraged all of our school-based apprentices to do so when possible.

We have been a corporate sponsor of Food Relief NQ for a number of years

We are a great supporter of the wonderful work they do in our local community and the broader community.


We have been a sponsor of a number of sporting clubs in Townsville, including AFL, cricket and football (soccer) for many years, Robert has previously played for and is the current coach of Suburban Parkes A-Grade Cricket Team. He has also played, coached and is a lifetime member of the MA Olympic Football Club.


Each year Bob Parkes supports the Lions Club by selling Lions Christmas Cakes. We also sell entertainment book memberships to raise funds for the wonderful local charity Unlock The Lachs.
